Pavement is a cloud-based eCommerce platform. We make it easy for anyone to sell food online directly to their customers. Drop us a line and lets make something tasty

Built on Pavement 🚧

Since Pavement 1.0 (AKA Curbside Pivot 😬) launched in May 2020, we've rapidly become the go-to tool for vendors looking to ditch third-party platforms and sell directly to their customers. While we've moved on from loading high-end steaks into car trunks, our core mission remains the same:

👉 Provide a local alternative to big tech that empowers F&B owners to grow their customer base, reduce reliance on third-party apps, and get more people through their doors.

Cut from the same hospitality cloth as you, we made an early decision to stay 100% independent and bootstrapped, focusing on building the tools you actually need rather than chasing endless customer acquisitions and pleasing investors.

Since launch, we've accomplished a lot:

  • ✅ 400,000+ orders processed
  • 💻 40,374 lines of code written
  • 🚀 467 updates released
  • 🎂 A whole new product launched—Version 2: Lamington!

** What to Expect in 2025** 🏡✨

From day one, we’ve known that food & beverage is a community-driven industry, shaped by locals and the fabric of the neighborhoods you operate in.

Up until now, our focus has been on solidifying the foundations of V2, which we launched in 2023 and now use exclusively across the board. While there are still a few things to wrap up, we’re shifting our focus to what we believe is the core of our product…

🚀 Driving customers away from third-party apps and directly to your site.

In this guide, we’ll highlight a few of the major releases for 2025, all designed to achieve that goal. While there will be hundreds of updates and bug fixes, we'll just focus on the big stuff in this wrap up.

THE FUTURE IS TASTY: The Launch of Tasty Local 🍕📍

From day one, we've faced an uphill battle… What’s the point of having a great website if no one knows about it? 🤔

For the past year, we’ve been testing Tasty Local, a brand-new app designed to help customers find and order directly from Canadian restaurants and eateries—cutting out the middleman and keeping more money in your pocket. 💰

Part guide, part ordering platform, our goal is to engage the general public and offer them a hyper-local alternative to Uber Eats and DoorDash. Saying we're excited for this is an understatement!

With Tasty Local, you’ll be able to:

  • 🔥 Highlight events
  • ⭐ Feature menu items
  • 🛍️ Sell directly to new customers
  • 📲 All without leaving your Pavement dashboard!

All Pavement clients will be listed automatically, with a soft launch happening this quarter. Check it out the beta at www.tastylocal.ca!

Pavement Academy 📚

First off we'll tackle one of our most requested features... Documentation! Things have moved so fast at Pavement that we’ve barely had a moment to sit down and catch up, that all changes this year.

Starting in Q1 2025, we’re launching support.pvmt.com, a knowledge base for all things Pavement. This will help you maximize the platform and—most importantly—get answers instantly instead of waiting for support. 🚀

On-Demand & Long-Distance Delivery 🚚

Over the past year, we’ve been testing integrated on-demand and long-distance delivery—allowing your customers to order delivery for a flat rate directly from your website and socials. It's been a lot of trial and error, but we're excited to bring this next phase to your store. Specifically it'll include:

  • 🌍 The largest pool of drivers on the planet: Pavement delivery lets you decide which driver to use—automatically or manually—giving you access to every delivery driver on the road, including our own fleet.

  • 📦 Long-distance delivery: We’ve partnered with Trexity to enable same-day long-distance delivery of non-perishables and baked goods! We'll start in Ottawa, followed by Hamilton<->Toronto, Calgary, and Vancouver.

We Don't Cook: Digital Magazine 📰

This year, we’re launching our very own digital magazine—We Don’t Cookpacked with insider tips and tricks from local pros and industry leaders. Expect articles on branding, marketing, and sales strategies to help F&B owners thrive in the digital world (and actually get some sleep at night). 😴

The Wrap-Up 🎬

And that’s a wrap on our 2025 roadmap! 🎉

As always, thank you for being part of this journey with us. We’re beyond excited to step into 2025 together and continue building the best local-first platform for F&B businesses. Let’s make this year the tastiest yet! 🍔🚀

Making Better, Better 🛠️

It’s no secret—V2 is better than V1… but we’ve still got some improvements to make before we go full hog wild. 2025 will see a variety of updates to** V2 including

  • Menu Duplication for easier seasonal menu creation
  • Per-item promo codes for more flexible discounts
  • Improved customer search & filters
  • User-friendly URLs & copy functions
  • Native third-party integrations (Mailchimp & Meta)
  • Better reports & custom data access (Customers, Best Sellers, Abandoned Carts)

The Future is Tasty.
